Cookie Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This policy covers captivo.io and app.captivo.io. On-premise installations run no third-party measurement at all; there, only the "Essential" cookies on this page are used.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file your browser stores when you visit a site. Things like staying signed in depend on them. Every cookie this site uses is listed below by name.

2. The cookies we use

This list is generated from the same source as the one in the preferences dialog, so what you read here and what you switch there cannot differ.

Essential

Session, security and your theme choice — what the site needs to work. Cannot be switched off.

Analytics

Measures which pages get used, anonymously. While off, Google Analytics writes no cookies.

3. Giving and withdrawing consent

You are asked once, on your first visit. Your choice is kept for 12 months in a cookie named captivo-consent, read by both captivo.io and app.captivo.io — so you are not asked the same question twice.

You can change it at any time: the cookie icon at the bottom left of the page reopens the preferences dialog. If the categories ever change, your earlier answer is not carried over — you are asked again.

4. Third parties

Turning on the analytics category runs Google Analytics. Until you do, it starts in a denied state through Google's Consent Mode and writes no cookies. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com.

No other measurement, advertising or chat tool is in use today. If one is added, it will be named on this page and your consent will be asked again.

5. Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones may stop things like signing in from working.
