MikroTik Hotspot integration is fully supported — both PAP and CHAP password verification methods are verified on real hardware, just like pfSense and OPNsense.

How it works

1. Design your portal

Pick your logo, colors and login method (SMS, voucher, hotel) from the dashboard.

2. Connect to RADIUS

Add your MikroTik router as a NAS client to Captivo RADIUS; copy the server details from the dashboard.

3. Upload the Hotspot template

Download the MikroTik Hotspot template (ZIP) from Settings → Portal and upload it to the router's hotspot directory.

4. Go live

When a guest connects your branded portal opens, verifies them and grants internet — records are kept for compliance.

Why Captivo + MikroTik?

  • Branded login on RouterOS Hotspot — no new hardware
  • Walled Garden, NTP and PAP/CHAP authentication support
  • ZIP hotspot template uploads straight to the router's hotspot directory
  • SMS, voucher and hotel (room-no) login; compliant logging

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Captivo work with MikroTik?

You design your branded portal in Captivo, download the MikroTik Hotspot template (ZIP) from Settings → Portal and upload it to your router's hotspot directory. You configure MikroTik to authenticate against Captivo RADIUS. The guest logs in with their phone/voucher and authentication happens through MikroTik.

Is MikroTik support production-ready?

MikroTik Hotspot integration is fully supported — both PAP and CHAP password verification methods are verified on real hardware. Step-by-step setup (RADIUS, Walled Garden, uploading the template, NAS-Identifier) is in the in-app documentation, just like pfSense and OPNsense.

Any difference vs pfSense/OPNsense?

The guest experience and features are the same (SMS, voucher, hotel login, compliant logging). The difference is how the login page connects to the router: for MikroTik the Hotspot template is uploaded to the router and the form posts to MikroTik's own login URL.
